Council worker rushed to hospital after serious crash at Wondecla

A council worker has been taken to hospital after a serious crash between a tractor mower and another vehicle in a remote Tablelands town.

A council worker has been taken to hospital after a serious crash between a tractor mower and another vehicle on the Atherton Tablelands on Tuesday.

Emergency services responded to the crash on the corner of Bass Rd and Longlands Gap Rd in the remote town of Wondecla about 11.40am.

A QAS spokesman said the driver of the mower had a head injury and was transported to Atherton Hospital in a stable condition while another paramedic unit remained on scene to treat the driver of the other vehicle.

A Tablelands Regional Council spokeswoman confirmed the tractor mower was being operated by one of the council’s employees.
