A 21-year-old man is recovering after he was allegedly stabbed in the eye with a machete in Cairns.
Police have charged a 25-year-old man from Manoora in connection with the incident at Centenary Close late Friday night, November 22.
A spokeswoman for Queensland Police Service said the two men became involved in an argument.
“It will be alleged the 25-year-old man stabbed the 21-year man in the eye with a machete after the two became involved in an argument,” she said.
The victim is receiving ongoing assessment at the hospital to determine the extent of the eye injury.
The man from Manoora has been charged with wounding and denied bail.
He is scheduled to appear in Cairns Magistrates Court on Monday, November 25.
