A man has been charged with child sex offences dating back to 2013

Detectives have charged a 65-year old man with 17 child sex offences dating back to 2013.

Detectives have charged a 65-year old man with 17 child sex offences dating back to 2013.

The man will face Atherton Magistrates Court on January 7 over alleged offences against two people known to him between 2013 and 2017.

The man has been charged with six counts of indecent treatment of a child under 12 (lineal descent), four counts of rape, two counts each of common assault and indecent treatment of a child under 12 (carer), and one count each of producing dangerous drugs, indecent treatment of a child under 12 – attempt to procure (lineal descent), and indecent treatment of a child under 12 – procure to commit (lineal descent).

Investigations are ongoing and police are appealing to anyone who may have experienced similar incidents in that time frame to contact authorities.
