The body of a man has been pulled from a popular waterway on the Queensland-New South Wales border.
At about 6.15am on Tuesday, police and emergency services were called to Jack Evans Boat Harbour at Tweed Heads following reports a body was seen in the water.
Police divers from the Marine Area Command and Tweed-Byron Police District personnel removed the body from the water.
The body has since been identified as a man aged in his 60s and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
A NSW Police spokesman said at this stage, the death was not being treated as suspicious.
The spokesman said no one had witnessed the man entering the water, and a missing persons report had not been filed.
The harbour is popular with scuba divers, snorkellers and tourists and was recently subject to a multi-million-dollar upgrade on behalf of Tweed Council.
