Mary Viturino has said she can’t wait to move with Conor Canning and her daughter to a scenic Hobart suburb and start her new job.
The sassy Bachelor in Paradise TV star said she has been in the state for a month after weeks spent isolating and keeping a low profile before the finale aired.
Now their secret is officially out, the rural Victoria local said she is ready to embrace her new life in Hobart.
She said she was excited to start her new job with the Tasmanian Health Service and move into a bigger, “beautiful” Sandy Bay house overlooking the water next week.
“The first thing we’re doing tonight is going out to a steak house for dinner,” Ms Viturino said.
“I can’t wait to see the places around Hobart I haven’t seen yet. “
She said she was initially nervous about the transition for her daughter Chanel Baxter, 6.
But the Mount Carmel Primary student said she and Mr Canning loved watching Disney movies and spending time together.
“We love playing with my Barbie dolls,” she said.
Chanel said she loved making friends and playing sports at her new school Mount Carmel Primary.
She said there was plenty to like about Tassie, especially the nice buildings.
Ms Viturino said she felt at home with Mr Canning in Tassie.
“He is very kind, genuine and affectionate towards me,” she said.
“He always makes sure that I’m all right.”
She said she was happy with how she presented on Bachelor in Paradise, despite some controversy surrounding her commentary on fellow contestant Abbie Chatfield.
“I feel like I went a bit extra here and there but I feel like I was myself,” she said.
“I don’t regret it, I feel like I’m going to keep being myself and I think that’s what people want to see – real stories.”
Mr Canning said it felt surreal to apply for a show he had never watched before and fly up to Fiji for production only weeks later.
“It was one of those crazy adventures but it worked out for the best,” he said.
“We’ll definitely be buying a house together.
‘I know that family’s important for both of us so there’s a lot of things in the future.”
