Alison Robinson remembered as a ‘beautiful soul’ after alleged Glenorchy murder

The woman allegedly murdered in Glenorchy on January 5 has been identified as Hobart woman Alison Robinson, remembered by family as a “kind, beautiful soul”.

The woman allegedly murdered in Glenorchy on January 5 has been identified as Hobart woman Alison Robinson, remembered by family as a “kind, beautiful soul”.

Known as Ali, the 39-year-old was a mother of two boys and was allegedly killed by New Town man David Evans when he torched her home.

Speaking exclusively with he Mercury, sister Nicole Robinson said it was important to “tell [Alison’s] story” and keep her memory alive.

“Alison was a kind soul – she was a mother, daughter, sister, aunty, cousin,” Ms Robinson said.

“She will be missed by many generations to come.

“We have a hole in our family that can never be repaired.

“She had a very sad life and suffered through so much … but she still took the time to help people whenever she could,” Ms Robinson said.

“She will always be in our hearts.”

Further taking to social media to grieve her little sister, Ms Robinson said she would never be the same.

“Today will always be in my mind the worst day of my life, I just won’t be the same,” Nicole Robinson said.

“I’ve lost a piece of me, I can’t talk about it, I miss you my darling baby sister and I won’t rest until those who have wronged you see the fair justice that they deserve.

“Fly high.”

Alison shared her final post on social media just hours before her alleged murder, where she chillingly wrote “I’m 39 years young and I still have so many unanswered questions”.

The post has since been flooded with love from friends and family, including her older brother Phil Robinson.

Mr Robinson mourned how Alison was “tragically stolen”.

“You are always my baby sister, and you are always in my heart. at peace now [sic],” he wrote.

Data from the ABS revealed about 2.2 million Australian adults experienced violence from a current or former partner in 2023 and five women were murdered every week.
