Woman’s infuriating act on flight wins the internet for all the wrong reasons

The post has sparked a debate about plane etiquette online but the comments are pure entertainment.

Plane etiquette tips all frequent flyers need to know

Thanks to the internet, we know a few things about what not to do on a flight shared with other people.

Taking your shoes off will get you called a "grot", reclining your seat is deemed a "selfish act", don't bother asking someone to change seats (even if it's to sit with your kids), and if you try and bake bread (yes it's happened!)... what are you even doing???

The internet certainly delivers when it comes to entitled people doing entitled things in public, especially when on holiday. But a recent post published on Reddit has the comments section erupting.

Is this... OK?

A traveller took to the social media platform to share an image they couldn't help but capture while on a recent flight.

"Woman kept covering my screen with her hair during a flight," the photo is captioned.

In the shot, you see a long ponytail draped over her seat, spilling onto the back and over the screen of the person sitting behind her.

Of course it was obstructing the person's view so the vent is (in my opinion) warranted, but the comments that appeared on the thread were rather varied.

Does she even know?

Many people voiced that they thought it was an "easy" mistake and that the poster should've perhaps told their fellow passenger to move her hair rather than post it on somewhere like Reddit.

"Have you told her? People are dumb and won't notice people around them unless spoken to," one person shared.

"Ppl are so f**king self absorbed," added another.

These comments prompted other people with long hair to throw their two cents worth in, claiming that the woman absolutely knew what she was doing.

"Speaking as a person with long hair, she must know!" a woman insisted.

And another agreed: "I have long hair and yes, I absolutely would feel [if] it was over the back of the headrest. That was a choice."

A bit of 'friendly' advice

While some offered their opinions, others offered some advice based on what they would've probably done.

"I had a similar experience once, I finally pulled her hair every time she did it. She reported me to the stewardess, but I had pictures of her hair for proof, the stewardess told her to quit doing it," one person laughed.

And other person offered a multi-tiered approach:

"1. Ask her to move her hair if that doesn't work - 2. Get the flight attendant to ask her to move it if that doesn't work - 3. Pull on the hair really hard and make truck honking noises."

Meanwhile, another person joked that grossing her out should do the trick.

"Wait until you have a drink - get a generous amount of drink on your fingers / hand, loudest , most realistic fake sneeze you can muster, wipe wet & sticky hand on intruding hair while loudly saying 'Oh! Oh god it's everywhere! I'm so sorry!'"
