'They should have moved': Mums rant against Bluey

An American mum has gone on a rant about how a famous scene from 'The Sign' has negatively influenced her little kids.

Mum blasts Bluey for it's message to children but people are divided about her complaint

One mother is upset that her children's (or rather her) favourite show, Bluey, turned against her.

After a "For Sale" sign went up in their front yard at the end of season three, a mother was surprised by her boys' reaction. She wasn't expecting them to say "Wackadoo" but what they did next caught her completely off guard.

"Bluey, WTF!" Sammy Pandolfo starts her rant.

She shares that she had watched 'The Sign' with her kids—the extended Bluey episode in which the Heelers' house goes up for sale—and thought this would be a teachable moment, given that her family was about to move "halfway across the country."

"We gotta get this sign-out"

In the episode, the Heelers don't end up moving, which inspired her kids to imitate the show, hoping they wouldn't move.

"He comes home," Sammy says about her 5-year-old son. "He sees the sign, and he immediately runs to it to start pulling it out of the ground. He says to his brother, 'Come on, Cooper, we gotta get this sign-out.'"

Oh biscuits!

The mother shares a "Cliff notes" version of the episode before she returns to her rant at the Bluey creators.

"Let this be a PSA to Bluey to any other kid shows or books. If you are talking about a hard topic, like kids moving, make them move. Make the move, OK! Have a silver lining - show how great it is when they MOVE," she ends her rant.

While Chilli and Bandit decide to stay at the end of the episode, this family will soldier on and move.

"Not moving was the right choice for the Heelers"

The mum didn't expect the internet to clap back so fast. She forgot who she was dealing with, Bluey adults don't mess around!

"OMG, not you expecting Bluey to parent your child and teach them about life and not you," one scolded.

"While Bluey is a relatable show," another agreed, "It is at its core a show for children. And we can’t outsource teaching our children about life completely to a family of cartoon dogs. Not moving was the right choice for the Heelers, as seen by Chilli not wanting to move and Bandit feeling 'forced' to move."

This super insightful fan wrote, "You missed the point of the episode. It wasn’t an episode for the kids it was for the grownups. In the episode, the parents want to move because they think they can have a better life by having a bigger house and a fancier community.

"But they realize that the good life isn’t what you find, what you move to, the good life is what you create, and they had already created a life full of love and laughter and a community that cared about them."

While this fan joke "'I'm not taking advice from a cartoon dog.' -Bandit Heeler, Bluey"

"Bluey did me dirty at the end!"

However, other brave mums in the same boat (or moving van) entered the chat with a Chilli death stare.

"Girl, same! Bluey did me dirty at the end! We just sold our house to move across the county, and I'm like, why," one mum wrote.

"Right? Bluey usually does a good job promoting healthy relationships and overcoming problems, but what did they think would happen to all the kids who watch it and are moving?" another added.

But did this "episode" turn the family off the show for real life? The mother added to her caption, "I still stand with Bluey".
