‘These girls need to get over themselves’: Fans fuming over Farmer Wants a Wife

Viewers slammed the charming reality show as one of the ladies was accused of breaking “girl code” on Sunday night's episode.

The farmers were totally out of their element tonight, out to dinner at a Sydney CBD restaurant, decked out in formal suits and ties.

If the show was a comedy, there would have been a counter in the corner of the screen keeping track of the all the times Todd tried and failed to loosen his tie.

And it’s no wonder the newcomer farmer was nervous.

The remaining three women vying for his affections were at each other’s throats.

For Jacinta and Grace, a formal dinner was apparently a good setting to call Daisy out for all the “love-bombing” she’d been doing at the meal and throughout the show.

“What’s love-bombing?” Todd wanted to know.

And while he got his explanation, the women quickly moved on to the fact that Daisy had broken the girl code for the whole season.

Daisy accused of breaking girl code

When they arrived on Todd’s farm, the women agreed to a girl code, which said they wouldn’t go behind each other’s backs to gain an advantage.

But there’s a problem with girls codes when you’re trying to win a reality show, and trying to get face time with a person so they’ll fall in love with you.

How are you going to win if you’re busy staying true to your competitors?

This is the stance Daisy took. She grabbed every opportunity to spend time with Todd, whether it meant competing for one-on-one dates, or sneaking into his room for morning snuggles.

Jacinta asked her point blank about the occasions she’d taken extra time with Todd, accusing her of breaking the code. But she wasn’t satisfied with just accusing Daisy, she wanted Daisy to own up to it.

“Do you feel like the girl code has been broken, and if yes, did you break it?” Jacinta asked.

“Yes. I broke girl code,” Daisy answered. “We’re all in the same situation and I’ve been pretty open with how much time I’ve spent with Todd from the get go… “

“You’ve been open right now,” Jacinta broke in. “I just don’t like being lied to.”

Daisy walked off in tears and Todd followed. If Jacinta was hoping to drive a wedge between them, it was clear she’d failed.

“They think I don’t respect them and that I don’t respect you, and that couldn’t be farther from the truth,” Daisy sobbed into Todd’s shoulder.

“All their questions are cruel ones.”

Maybe the connection with Todd had fizzled long before dinner, or maybe Jacinta’s attack on Daisy was the final straw, but Todd sent her home tonight, leaving him with Grace and Daisy for the finale.

Internet divided over Farmer formal dinner

Some viewers were cheering for Daisy on social media, calling her the “nicest” of the girls.

“All Daisy needs to say is she’s here for Todd, not the girls,” one person said, rightly pointing out the objective of the women on the show. “Go Daisy, you are by far the nicest!”

Others weren’t as patient.

“OMG these women,” said one person. “Daisy can’t help it if she’s hot. So she sneaks in to see him. And?? Get over it!”
