THREE Tasmanian distilleries are mixing it with the producers of some of Australia’s best single malt whiskies, according to a national magazine.
The Australian Financial Review recently revealed its best six Australian single malt whiskies, with Spring Bay Distillery coming in third, Sullivans Cove in fifth and Hellyers Road in sixth.
Spring Bay is only in its third year of operation and owner and head distiller Cam Brett was buoyed by the news and the support of the whisky industry in the state.
Mr Brett is now waiting for the next release of his new single malt next month in time for Tasmanian Whisky Week from August 13-19.
