The Carlyle Hotel
232 Main Rd, Derwent Park
The Carlyle Hotel boasts an extensive children’s menu with affordable prices for families. The menu includes kid’s favourites including chicken nuggets, a variety of burgers and pizza, all $9 each including a drink. The restaurant features a large indoor play area, giving the adults some rare quiet time to have a chat and enjoy their meals. The Carlyle also caters for children’s birthday parties and kids eat free Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Salty Dog
2 Beach Rd, Kingston Beach
To a child, a name like The Salty Dog says fun, and that’s exactly what it is. Located opposite Kingston Beach, this cheerful establishment which includes a great outdoor sandpit has plenty to keep the kids entertained. The kid’s menu goes beyond the typical options, and includes chicken Maryland with chips ($13) and homemade beef lasagne with garden salad ($14).
Shoreline Hotel
10 Shoreline Dr, Howrah
Family owned and operated, the Shoreline Hotel puts an emphasis on family fun. Known for its relaxed atmosphere, the hotel is undergoing a major refurbishment to become even more kid friendly. The children’s menu features splishy splashy (fish and chips) and tropicarcar (Hawaiian pizza), both $10 each, and desserts for $6. The Shoreline is set to reopen by the end of next month.
Pub in the Paddock
250 St Columba Falls Rd, Pyengana
The pigs out the front of this quirky North Eastern pub, including Priscilla the beer-drinking pig, are always a source of great entertainment for children. There’s plenty of room to play outside and the interior is decorated with old photos and farm ing memorabilia sure to keep the kids captivated. The children’s menu is full of all their favourites for $9 each.
The Olde Tudor Hotel
229 Westbury Rd, Launceston
The Olde Tudor Hotel’s spacious, newly renovated restaurant is the perfect place to take the kids. The children’s playroom with TVs and gaming machinery is sure to distract them while parents enjoy some quiet time. Families can also take advantage of the winter promotion, which makes kids’s meals, including the roast, fish ‘n’ chips and chicken schnitzel, half price ($5.50).
