‘Shaking’: Lucky Brisbane woman wins entire $5m Powerball jackpot
The woman was shaking like a leaf after being told she and her family had become $5m richer after her massive Powerball win.
One lucky Aussie woman has scored a cool $5m in Thursday night’s Powerball draw, with the winning numbers coming from a special place in her heart.
The lone division 1 winner took home $5,251,280.07.
The winning numbers on Thursday night’s lotto were 19, 11, 12, 4, 29, 13, 27, with the Powerball number 20.
On Friday morning, a Brisbane resident said she couldn’t stop shaking after learning she was the sole winner.
“Oh my god! Oh my god!” she told The Lott official.
“Are you serious? I’ve won $5m? Oh my god! Oh my god! I had absolutely no idea!”
She said she and her husband, who was sitting by her side, were “shaking” with disbelief.
“I was so close to not calling you back because I thought it was a dodgy phone number and I didn’t recognise it, but I’m so glad I’ve called you back,” she laughed.
She said the winning numbers were very close to home.
“Now that I look at the numbers, the winning numbers are all family numbers – birthdates and anniversaries!” she said.
The Brisbane woman said the winnings would finally allow her husband to retire.
“This means my husband can retire,” she said.
“I always said that if I won the lottery that I wouldn’t tell anyone, but I want to shout it from the rooftop now.”
