"I know you don't love me anymore..."

Under a lot of pink wrapping paper lay a self-help book, 'Fall in Love with Yourself' by Nagel Gaudia.

The attached note read: "I know you don't love me anymore, love yourself now... Kev."

Rachel was confused by the gift, as she said her boyfriend knew that she struggled with self-love and setting boundaries.

TikTok users were also intrigued, with the comment section lighting up with advice and opinions.

"It's a trick, don't fall for it."

Some users urged her to reconsider, with passionate comments like, "Get your boy back," "That's your soulmate!" and "Are you sure you don't love him? I'd cry if my ex did that for me."

"Pretty sure he's telling her to go love herself and learn what she wants to do by exploring and living life to the fullest," someone else theorised.

However, the self-help gift also raised some eyebrows, with many reading into it as a subtle form of manipulation and urging her not to fall for it.

"This is him trying to make her doubt her self-worth," one commented.

Then this user speculated, "This is a way of manipulating her to think she doesn't love herself," while another warned, "It's a trick."

Others were split down the middle, with one person admitting, "Can't tell if it's manipulative or genuine."

And then echoing a sentiment felt by many, one user wrote: "They always do what you were asking for the whole time after it's too late."
