SOME Hobart residents may have noticed the gaping hole in Constitution Dock where the Flippers seafood punt should be.

The punt, which has been docked across from Mures for about two decades, has been undergoing a facelift on the Domain Slipway after being towed up the River Derwent early this week.

It will be back in its usual home sometime during the next week after being washed, sand-blasted and painted.

It hasn’t been out of the water for maintenance since 2010.

“We’re doing general maintenance to the bottom hull, top hull and we have got a new logo so just a bit of a facelift to jazz it up a bit for summer,” Flippers owner Aaron Hogan said.

“It’ll be predominantly white on the top and a different blue on the bottom.

“I was a little bit worried but there doesn’t seem to be anything wrong, no holes or anything.”
