Young boy rushed to hospital after horrific dog attack

Paramedics rushed to a house 80 kilometres east of Adelaide after calls that a child had been bitten by the family dog.

A 10-year-old boy has been rushed to hospital after an attack by a pet dog in South Australia.

It was 1:15pm on Sunday when paramedics arrived at a home on Lohmann St in Murray Bridge, about 80km east of Adelaide, following reports that a dog had bitten a child.

The boy was taken to Murray Bridge Soldier's Memorial Hospital by ambulance to be treated for injuries. 

According to South Australia police, he is in a stable condition and his injuries are not serious.

A spokesperson for the Murray Bridge Council told The Advertiser that the dog was a family dog, and the incident had taken place on the family property. 

The dog has been seized by council as they conduct an investigation. It's not known if the dog will be put down.
