Bride refuses to let bridesmaids get photographed unless they do one thing

The bride-to-be is going to extreme lengths to make sure everything looks perfect on her big day, no matter the consequences.

Wedding photographer shoves bride's stepmum

A bride-to-be has been criticised online for going to extreme lengths to make sure her bridesmaids look perfect on her big day.

As most people are aware, weddings are bloody expensive. From the cake to flowers, many people feel tempted to elope rather than fork out thousands for one day.

But those who go through with the wedding can feel an overwhelming sense of relief when someone else offers to pay for an important element of the big day

“If you don’t have professional makeup, no pics for you!”

But for one bride-to-be, the thought of forking out cash to cover another person’s essentials on the big day was too much to handle, even if it’s her bridesmaids.

Speaking to her bridesmaids in a group chat, which was later shared on a wedding Facebook group, the bridal party were discussing the potential makeup artists they’d hire for the event.

According to the bride, the makeup would set them back $125 per person, which is certainly expensive.

One of the bridesmaids, TaKayla, then made a fatal error by asking whether the bride would cover the cost. Big mistake. Huge.

“No TaKayla, I’m not paying for it,” the bride said bluntly.

Ah, OK then!

Before the bridesmaids even had the chance to respond, the bride came armed with dire consequences for those who didn’t follow her request.

“If you don’t have professional makeup, no pics for you,” she said.

But how would the photographer know not to take any photos of these bare-faced bridesmaids, you may ask?

Bright orange wristbands, obviously.

“I will provide a wristband for people with no makeup,” she told the bridal party. “So the photographer knows to stay away from you.”

There are so many things to unpack here: Can the bridesmaids just do their makeup themselves and skip out on the $125 price tag?

Is it worth alienating her closest friends and family so that she can get some nice pictures?

Plus, can the bride really tell if their beat was done by a professional makeup artist?

And, importantly, would the bridal party look any nicer after adding bright orange wristbands to their getup? Methinks not.

In another update, the bride revealed makeup wasn’t her only issue for the bridesmaids.

If any of them were caught wearing a pair of flats rather than the assigned heels during the wedding, she wouldn’t “go out with them”.

“How to lose friends in three texts”

The majority of people were scratching their heads at the “wild" text exchange between the bride and her supposed friends.

“If she demands professional makeup for her bridesmaids, then she should pay for it,” read a comment. “It’s really wild when people have ZERO self-awareness,” a second wrote.

“I hope the photographer charges extra when she makes them edit out all the wristbands,” someone pointed out.

“OK, but if she gives the wristband to the ones without makeup, what’s stopping them from just taking it off?” asked a fourth.

"Your personal make-up will ruin photos, unlike these gorgeous neon trash wristbands?"

Online, people couldn't help but wonder if all this drama was worth potentially losing friends over.

“How to lose a friend in three texts,” someone joked. "Just say you hate your friends and go," another wrote.

“Is the wedding about celebrating your love and relationship with your family and friends, or is it about getting ‘aesthetic’ pictures?” another wondered.

This was the perfect time to plot an escape from bridesmaid duties, others suggested.

"I’d be getting together with the other bridesmaids and planning a secret boycott," a person laughed. "Just not turn up on the day."

“This is where I’d disrespectfully tell the bride to get bent and dip out hella quick,” a comment read.
