New Bachie dishes the dirt on old flame

Ahead of his first official interview, Australia’s next Bachelor Jimmy Nicholson reveals that he was already romantically entwined in the franchise.

First look at new season of The Bachelor

Jimmy Nicholson will hit our screens later this month when he hands out roses to the 23 women vying for his affections as the new Bachelor.

However, the Sydney-based pilot tells Stellar On Friday that had things worked out differently in his teens, he could have ended up part of the Heinrich family – as in, that of season- one Bachelor winner Anna.

“I took Anna’s younger sister, Charlotte, to my high-school formal,” Nicholson says.

“She was such a hottie. I thought she was way out of my league and so nothing happened. I found out later she wanted to kiss me, and I was devastated I missed the opportunity!”

In a further connection with Anna, the 31-year-old ran into her husband, Australia’s first Bachelor Tim Robards, at the gym when he was considering whether or not to sign up for the show.

“I had a confidential chat to him,” Nicholson says.

“I couldn’t have gotten advice from anyone better. He told me to run my own race, and instead of obsessing over who I was going to pick at the end, to focus on who I don’t see compatibility with.”

In this Sunday’s issue of Stellar, Nicholson sits down for his first interview since leaving the Bachelor mansion – and dishes on whether or not he found true love on the show.

The Bachelor Australia premieres at 7.30pm on July 21 on Network Ten.
