Mum hits back after being slammed for hubby’s lunch box snacks

A woman has hit back after she was criticised for packing her husband “unhealthy” food and she’s getting plenty of support for her choices.

Nutrition showdown: which fast food is the healthiest?

An Aussie mum has been slammed after sharing a photo of the lunch boxes she prepares for her husband each week.

Her hubby works away for a lot of the time — and doesn’t have many good food options.

So the mum has taken things into her own hands, preparing a stack of prepacked lunch boxes for him to take with him, Kidspot reports.

In the photo, shared on a Kmart Facebook group, she showed how she fills each box with slices of cheese, mini-sausages, fruit and Maltesers.

“These meal prep containers are great for making him snack boxes to eat while on the go,” she wrote.

“They come with lids and have a great seal. He stores in a fridge or esky.”

TROLLS SLAM MUM FOR ‘UNHEALTHY’ LUNCH BOX

It didn’t take long for the internet to descend on the innocent post – with the mum receiving countless comments slamming her for packing ‘unhealthy’ food for her husband.

“Very good idea but I think some of those food choices should be reconsidered. There’s a lot of carcinogenic and heart attacks packed in there,” one person wrote.

“Great containers … but killing your husband with those snacks,” another added.

“Not really. You do you boo. Slowly killing your husband 1 twiggy stick at a time,” a third person commented.

“This is nice but if you want, I can write your partner a meal plan. You’d be able to use these containers to prep his lunches,” another commenter wrote, adding, “Strong healthy hearts start with whole hearty meals.”

MUM HITS BACK AT LUNCH BOX CRITICISMS

But the mum was not at all bothered by the criticism. She posted an update on her original post, calling out those people who judged her.

“Also no I don’t want your dietary advice, obviously it could be healthier but I have to pack what he would actually eat,” she wrote.

“So many judgey rude people, you should be ashamed of yourself!

“Go and have a breast milk, coconut oil, hemp seed, chia, activated almond cocktail and chill the F out.”

FACEBOOK COMMENTERS APPLAUD MUM’S LUNCH BOX

She was backed by other commenters, who jumped to her defence.

“Why can’t people keep their comments to themselves?” one person wrote.

“Someone’s always got something to say … the containers are ace. People in the group on the other hand … a**holes,” another wrote.

“I would probably pack very similar for my husband. What I think is beautiful is that she loves him enough to do it,” a third woman commented, while others asked if she too could pack their lunches.

“That’s cool. They look like bento boxes,” one woman said.

“Can you pack my lunches too please??” another joked.
