MAFS star Domenica Calarco confirms split days after announcing she’s pregnant

A former MAFS contestant has spoken out after rumours emerged following her recent pregnancy announcement.

Just days after confirming she’s expecting her first child, Domenica Calarco has revealed she will be a “solo parent”.

The former MAFS star revealed she’s 14-weeks pregnant with boyfriend Jarod Bogunovich in a touching Instagram post on Wednesday.

But after fans noticed Bogunovich was not mentioned in her baby announcement, the 31-year-old has now given fans an emotional update, explaining the couple will “co-parent” the child who is due in September.

“I am incredibly excited about this next chapter in my life and feel truly empowered by my decision to step into motherhood on my own terms,” she wrote on Instagram Stories on Sunday.

“This journey is one that I embrace wholeheartedly, with all its highs and lows, and I am beyond proud to be stepping into this role with strength, love and a deep sense of purpose.”

Calarco added that she was “grateful to have the support of the father in a co-parenting capacity” and also recognised that there are many who “embark on parenthood alone” for a multitude of reasons.

“There is so much power in making the best decision for yourself and your child,” she said.

The update comes just a few days after Calarco explained why she had been absent on social media, where she has worked as an influencer since appearing on Married At First Sight in 2022.

“Been a little MIA working on my greatest project yet.....Baby,” she captioned her post on Thursday.

“Due September 2025 #pregnancyannouncement #pregnant.”

Some followers were quick to notice there was no sign or mention of Bogunovich, and quickly took to the comments section.

“Congratulations. I can only assume since there is no talk of a partner that you have decided to do this alone and as a single mum by choice (used a donor) I just wanted to say you can do this. It’s going to be the hardest thing you have ever done (not trying to scare you just stating the facts lol) but what a beautiful hard it is. The most pure unconditional love there is,” one supportive fan said.

Calarco debuted her relationship with Bogunovich, a “skater beau”, in September last year after initially meeting on Bumble in 2021.

Describing the timing as not quite right, love blossomed between the pair when they bumped into each other at a Sydney gym in 2024.

Since confirming her baby news, Calarco has also been sharing her first trimester struggles, explaining it took weeks for doctors to diagnose her with hyperthyroidism, a condition sometimes caused during pregnancy that causes an overactive thyroid.

“It’s okay to admit you’re not enjoying pregnancy,” she shared on a video that showed her crying at 7 weeks pregnant while suffering with low blood pressure, intense heart palpitations and extreme fatigue.
