More than just words

Several brides on this year’s season of MAFS reportedly believe they are being ‘set up to be hated’ by viewers, thanks to the wording of their official bios, which were released this week.

Thanks to now-leaked messages, it’s clear that these brides understand that just a few adjectives can do a lot in terms of how the audience will perceive them, with some being described as ‘bubbly, bright and caring’, and others as ‘outspoken, fiery and loud with extremely high standards’ - the latter of which now expressing concerns that people will have a negative first impression of them.

“The bios are the first real glimpse of how they’re going to be portrayed and many of the cast are still living in denial, believing they were angels throughout the experiment and never did anything wrong,” a source told Yahoo Lifestyle.

“Even now reading how they’re described, some of them aren’t ready to have a mirror held up to them.

“There’s a group chat with many of them complaining to each other that the network is showing favouritism, accusing publicists of being ‘out to get them’, and even saying bosses are being misogynistic by how they describe the women.”

What else can the bios tell us?

Monday’s cast announcement also hinted at more behind-the-scenes drama with a few participants in particular, with grooms Jake and Tim - listed last out of all the cast members on Nine’s website - appearing in lower quality images than everyone else.

Yahoo Lifestyle was able to confirm this to be true, stating that neither of the two attended the cast’s press day when the photoshoot took place.

Dramaaaa!

It seems this is just the beginning of the drama, with plenty more intel around the newlyweds beginning to surface ahead of the show’s premiere on January 27.

Whilst this season is rumoured to be one of the most successful, it’s also posed to be one of the most drama-filled, with a mass exodus in the first week, multiple sets of exes being paired together, and a few spicy scandals set to occur as the season progresses.
