Jacuzzis, DJs and a tiki bar: Inside Hunter Curtis' $50k yacht birthday party

Now, I know what some of you might be thinking. "Wow, $50k for a kid's birthday party? That's insane!" Anddddd you would be correct.

Hunter Curti's 9th birthday

This weekend, a luxury 122ft superyacht was rented out for $2800/hour and ferried 20+ nine-year-olds around Sydney Harbour.

The occasion?

Hunter Curtis' birthday party, of course.

It's really a standard weekend for the Jacenko/Curtis clan, who are no strangers to throwing lavish birthdays for their sproglets.

Just last year, Roxy splashed out a rumoured $40k for her daughter Pixie's disco-themed 11th birthday.

And now, she's outdone herself again with Hunter's Hawaiian bash, which reportedly set the PR maven back $50k.

Hunter Curtis' Aloha-themed $50k birthday party

Despite having enlisted the help of luxury event planner, Diane Khoury, the idea for the party's theme came entirely from Hunter himself.

"Hunter was looking through old photos from when he was little and came across some images of a trip we went on to Hawaii — it was then he decided he wanted a Hawaiian-themed ninth birthday as he has missed out on celebrating with his friends due to Covid for the past three birthdays," Jacenko told Sunday Confidential.

And according to assistant planner and stylist Katarina Yelavich, Hunter's prowess as a planner didn't stop there. He also made an "amazing inspo document" to give the event planners insight into his grand concept.

$50,000 later, that vision came to life.

"It was every kid's dream," she said.

Custom-made slippers, a lolly-buffet station and hula dancers

As guests arrived at the wharf, they were transported to Hawaii as hula dancers placed leis around their necks.

They were then offered mocktails served out of pineapples and canapes while they made their way onto the Ghost II super yacht.

After donning their custom-made slippers, they explored the boat which was decorated in a 13-metre double-layered balloon garland and surfboards and flamingo cut-outs.

The stand-out feature of the party was the lolly buffet station, complete with cardboard boxes that read: 'Hunter's Birthday Luau' for guest to collect their treats in.

A tiki bar also took centre stage and held Hunter's epic two-tier birthday cake, topped with a handmade figurine of himself dressed in Hawaiin shorts.

Hunter's friends could also take home their own cartoon portrait, done by a Caricaturist on board.

The activities didn't stop there though. Kids splashed in the jacuzzi which was filled with inflatable toys and danced the evening away to a DJ spinning tunes.

As the sun set, guests and their parents gathered inside to sing Happy Birthday to Hunter who, safe to say, looked pretty chuffed.
