‘I went into labour during a Taylor Swift concert, I wasn’t going to miss her’

Tori Ernst wanted to enjoy the global superstar’s Eras concert before giving birth, but her unborn baby decided this was the perfect time to arrive - among thousands of fans and gridlock traffic.

Devoted Swiftie Tori Ernst was in her final weeks of pregnancy when she got dressed up for a last hoorah,  to see her favourite musician.

She expected Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour to be one of the greatest nights of her life.

But she did not expect it it to end with such a momentous occasion - the arrival of her first baby.

As soon as the show ended, Tori’s waters broke - among a sea of thousands of Swiftie fans and gridlock traffic.

“We joked that this would happen"

In a TikTok video, with 1.8 million views, Tori’s friend Sabrina shared how the new mum’s waters broke as the performance finished in Cincinnati, Ohio.

In the clip viewers can see Tori on the phone, in a bathroom, looking distressed with her mum Jodi and best friend, before an ambulance is filmed leaving the concert.

The video then shows Tori cradling her new baby boy, hours after her concert experience.

“My best friend, and Swiftie super-fan since 2006, had her water break leaving (the concert) three weeks before her due date," Sabrina explained.

“We joked that this would happen, and apparently manifested it."

She went on to say, "baby boy came just before 10am the next morning. Mum and baby are happy, healthy and changed evermore”.

Tori's mum also posted to Facebook about the chaotic moment, saying, "went to my first Taylor concert with Tori.....came home with a grandson."

Many fans commented on the TikTok video asking if the new baby was named Taylor, in honour of her idol, but Tori instead went with family names; Lyle Joseph in honour of her husband's grandfather and her grandfather.

"What a story she can tell little Lyl"

Talking to WMTV, Tori explained she went into labor "not even 20 minutes after (Taylor) got off the stage”.

“That was when I was like, 'I think I got to go to the bathroom,' " she said.

"When my friend realised what was happening, she started freaking out and grabbed whoever the first person she could find.”

They found a security officer Niko Iacobucci, who called emergency services knowing the mum needed to get out of the stadium quickly.

"Well, 23 years at Paycor Stadium and I just called 911 for a girl whose water broke. I didn't get her name but congratulations!" Niko captioned a picture she posted to Facebook.

Hours after helping Tori out of the stadium, the worker was contacted by the new mum to let her know she had arrived at hospital and was doing well, and again when she had delivered her son.

"Tori who’s water broke at Taylor Swift on Friday is doing well... what a story she can tell little Lyl," she captioned a post with photos of the newborn.

Describing the Swift concert as "very awesome," the new mum told WMTV she was thrilled the popstar played a part in her baby boy’s birthday.

“People say that I started my new era as being a mother, so I leave the Eras Tour and go into my new one," she said.
