Flight attendant’s wild reaction to basic passenger request

There’s nothing like a plane packed full of people who have a long haul flight ahead of them to really create some stressful situations. 

While it is usually badly behaved passengers causing mayhem, this time it was reportedly a flight attendant who lost her cool, resulting in the flight being cancelled.

The Air Canada Airbus flight was due for takeoff, but had to return to the gate due to the incident.

"You will behave or we will get off" 

In a clip that has been circulating on social media, the flight attendant can be heard speaking in both French and English and saying, "You will behave or we will get off!" She then says, "I'll tell the captain right away. Yes or no?"

When a passenger asks her to call the captain, she is steadfast instead saying, "I don't want any bullying against my crew."

As per a CTV News story, a passenger reportedly asked for a blanket which led the flight attendant to become angry.

There is no further evidence of what happened however to explain why this flight attendant became so visibly upset to the point of accusing the passenger of “bullying" her team.

"We're taking the incident very seriously" 

While all passengers and crew left the plane, Air Canada were forced to cancel the flight and later issued an apology while they investigated further. 

"We are taking this incident very seriously. It is under review, and we will take appropriate action. We apologize to our customers and deeply regret that their experience today fell far short of what they have come to expect when flying with Air Canada," a spokesperson named Christophe Hennebell said.

Air Canada is offering passengers compensation for the delay and the incident and organised a flight with a different crew to depart from Casablanca to Montreal later that day.

Over on X and in the comments section where the clip was posted, many people were speculating as to what happened.

“I hate these half complete one sided passenger videos,” wrote one X user.

“Aircrew don’t randomly start to mistreat passengers.”

"I'm sure there is another side to this"

Another added: “Lots of people commenting without even stopping to consider what might have happened before this (i.e. it wasn’t about the blanket).

“People elsewhere are saying one of the other flight crew was treated very inappropriately by a passenger.”

With a third posting: “I don’t believe that for a second. She was defending one of her coworkers. As she was crew captain. I’m sure there’s another side to this.”
