‘Feel Good’ film created to give Tasmanians a boost during the COVID-19 crisis

TOURISM body Destination Southern Tasmania has released a short film that they hope will serve as a morale boost to pandemic-affected businesses and everyday Tasmanians alike.
Produced by Hype TV, the three-and-a-half-minute film, titled “Feel Good,” was created entirely during the COVID-19 crisis, which has caused the shutdown of most of the state’s tourism industry.
“Destination Southern Tasmania has been holding regular Zoom meetings for our members, providing information and assistance from a range of tourism experts,” Destination Southern Tasmania CEO Alex Heroys said.
“(Hype co-owner/producer) Dave Flower decided to create this film to give us all a lift and to remind of what we have created as an industry in the past decade and more.”

Mr Heroys said the film was extremely uplifting, capturing many of the iconic places, events and people who are the bedrock of the southern Tasmanian tourism industry.
“But the final tagline is a message for both the statewide tourism industry and all Tasmanians who are feeling the loss of our visitor economy,” he said.
“It reads: ‘We make the good things happen. Together we will do it again. That’s the Tassie way’.”
Mr Heroys said the gradual lifting of restrictions was welcome news but noted that it would be some time before Tasmania’s tourism industry could benefit from interstate and overseas visitors again.
In the meantime the industry will need to rely on Tasmanians exploring their own state.
“We know that many Tasmanians will be eager to get out and spend time exploring their own regions,” he said.
“I know that this film will appeal to all Tasmanians, whether it be for inspiration and trip planning purposes, or to feel proud to work in the industry.”
