Fans think Sabrina Carpenter is coming to Oz. You shouldn't buy your kids tickets

The singer has been dropping hints for a tour Down Under. But, whether or not you should hop in the ticket queue is a little more complicated.

Despite giving us a miss on her Short n' Sweet Tour, Aussies think Sabrina Carpenter has been dropping hints that she’ll be heading Down Under following the release of her upcoming album Man’s Best Friend.

And, while this news has many people updating our details in every ticketing account - just in case - I think some of us are in need of a reminder about who should, and who shouldn’t, be getting those tickets.

So… is she coming or not?

So, Sabrina Carpenter hasn’t actually announced a tour just yet. The album hasn’t even been released!

But, there are a few pretty telling hints that are leading fans to believe she’ll be making a stop in Australia in the near future.

Most recently, fans have seen posters for Sabrina’s upcoming album Man’s Best Friend popping up around Australia which have sent everyone into an absolute frenzy. And, while this could just be promo for the album, it has to be something bigger… right??

Last month, TikTok creator Jacinda Chenelle also shared that Sabrina’s merch website had been updated with new FAQs - some which had information about pre-sale access and codes.

There was also a Sabrina Carpenter pop-up in London just a few weeks ago, at which there was an Australian number plate in amongst all the other local knick knacks.

Go ahead and call me delusional, but after she said in the midst of Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour that she’d love to return to Australia, I’m taking all of these as signs that she’ll be here sooner than we think (or at least manifesting it).

Get ready for The Great War

As we know from artists like Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo and Gracie Abrams, getting tickets to Sabrina Carpenter is going to be an absolute bloodbath, no matter where she goes or how many shows she performs.

So, I think it’s time we start thinking about whether or not we really need those tickets.

Sabrina Carpenter has, for the entire time she’s been in the spotlight, been a little bit of a ‘controversial’ artist. Even in her Disney days, I would say she was a little edgier than the norm.

But, things really shifted with the release of Emails I Can't Send, and the popularity of her spicy Nonsense outros.

Think, ‘He’s searching for my G-spot like Chris Columbus’ and ‘Made his knees so weak, had to spread mine’.

And, the Nonsense outros walked so the Juno pose could run. At the Short n’ Sweet Tour, Sabrina would sing ‘Have you ever tried this one?’ and perform a… suggestive pose (if you know what I mean).

While the majority of her fans loved both the Nonsense outros and the Juno pose, and, like me, are devastated that we’re probably not going to get either as part of her next tour, it did lead to a lot of concern from parents who’d taken their kids to see Sabrina off the back of Espresso’s success that the ‘oh so sweet’ popstar wasn’t so sweet at all.

“I’m sorry but am I the only one offended? Like why is she being disgusting sexually in front of children,” said one concerned fan on X following a particularly freaky Juno pose.

“Sabrina Carpenter doing this in front of an audience full of children is so weird,” another agreed.

But, to those people I ask - did you not listen to the album?

If you don’t like it, don’t go!

Sabrina Carpenter is a very outwardly sexual artist. With songs like Bed Chem and Juno right there on the album, this isn’t a secret. And, that’s okay.

While, yes, she was on Disney Channel, she’s now 26, and can sing whatever she wants, dance however she wants and wear whatever she wants. She has no obligation to cater her shows towards kids, even if some of her most popular songs are coincidentally radio-friendly.

If and when Sabrina does tour in Australia, I can’t tell you not to buy tickets. In fact, if you have a little Carpenter at home who would do anything to see Espresso live, I think you should buy tickets - I’m sure it will be an amazing show, and I’ll be right there in the ticket queue with you!

But, I think it’s important that you know what you’re getting yourselves into first.

There’s a good chance that Sabrina’s next tour won’t be completely kid-friendly. And, whether you embrace it and let them watch, or cover their eyes, is totally up to you - just as it was for your parents when they took you to see Katy Perry, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera or Madonna back in the day.

However, if you do opt to buy tickets, I don’t want to hear a single complaint about ‘How dare she do this in front of my kids!’. Because the show isn’t just for your kids. It’s for her, and the rest of her adult fans, too.

And, if that’s not okay with you, kindly give up your spot in the queue for the rest of us who’d kill to see her live - no matter how ‘inappropriate’ it is. I’d like to see Read Your Mind and Don’t Smile live, please!
