The game changing idea

A keen caravanner has taken to Facebook, posting their hack in the Everything Caravan & Camping group.

“Using pool noodles to keep things from moving while driving!!” the poster wrote.

“This is not my idea, but definitely a useful one!”

In the accompanying photo, you can see the poster has cut up pool noodles and laid them horizontally across the fridge shelves to stop bottles and cans from falling.

“What can’t pool noodles do?”

Many commenters on the post were thrilled with the idea.

“Great idea! Thanks for sharing,” one commenter said.

“What can't pool noodles do?” said another.

“Great idea,” a third added.

“What a great idea. We have [an] upright car fridge and bottles and cans do rattle, we have towels around it but this is better. Thanks for sharing,” another person added.

“Waste!”

But, others weren’t so sure, saying that it was a non-issue, or a waste of space.

“I have never had a problem with things moving in the fridge when travelling and been living in the van full time for the last 9 years doing around 20,000klm a year towing,” one person said.

“Waste of valuable space,” another claimed.

“We don't have a problem with things moving around in the fridge,” a third agreed.

A few more hacks

Whether you like this hack or not, some commenters came up with even more ideas to keep your fridge clean - and quiet.

“I also have a pool noodle at the back of the tray. Anything on the back wall freezes,” said one commenter.

“[I] have non slip matting on the door shelves but that is more to stop black rub marks than to stop movement,” said another.

“I've bought some fridge pole things from the caravan show, can buy them at caravan shops. Put them in the fridge every time we are on the move. They are great,” another person suggested.
