Going to the pool can be one of the most relaxing parts of any holiday.

But, it can also be the most stressful.

“What side are you on?”

Aussie mum Millie Patterson has taken to TikTok whilst on a family holiday in Fiji, expressing her and her husband’s differing opinions.

“Guys, we need to settle the age old pool bed debate, and I need your help, because my husband and I are on completely different sides,” the video began.

“We’re staying at a hotel and every morning by like 8am, all the pool beds are gone, and in my opinion, you gotta get down there, too. The precedence has been set.

“I wouldn’t be the first one to do it. I think it’s a d*ck move, but I’m also not gonna miss out on a pool bed because everyone else has selfishly taken them.”

She then extended the question to viewers.

“What side are you on? Do you be a good citizen, do the right thing and miss out on a pool bed, or do you be a d*ck and take one like everyone else?” she said.

“Don’t miss out!”

Plenty of commenters agreed with Millie, saying that you should be claiming your spot early.

“If you can’t beat them join them,” one commenter said.

“Take one like everyone else,” another said.

“Although you should only use it if you are there so that’s annoying people are doing that. But I agree don't miss out.”

“Take the bed,” a third said.

“You absolutely go down there and put your towels down there too sis!” another agreed.

However, others weren’t so sure about the trend, saying it’s unfair and selfish, with some even adding that they’d move a placeholder if no one is sitting there at the time.

“If you’re not actively using the chair or in the pool area, it’s free for anyone else to use,” one commenter said.

“I literally move the towels,” said another.

“Don’t miss out, simply move the towels,” another agreed.

“I haven’t experienced this but surely you can’t reserve a bed if you’re not there!! And someone who is there can’t sit down? That’s crazy,” someone agreed.

“If you’re not sitting at the pool chair with your ass on the chair YOU DONT GET IT SORRY,” another said.
