Two Australian influencers have been left shaken and “traumatised” after being held at gun point in America.
Following their Coachella festivities, Izzy Armitage, 24, and Hannah Dal Sasso, 28, had their rental property allegedly barged into by armed police early Wednesday morning.
In a video posted to TikTok, Dal Sasso recounted the terrifying moment she was jolted from her sleep by police pointing guns directly at her.
“Some random dude came into my room just screaming in a full sheriff outfit,” Dal Sasso said in the video.
“With a freaking gun at me while I’m asleep like I woke up to it and I didn’t understand what was going on. He just kept screaming ‘get up, get up’.”
Staying in an Airbnb in California, the women were informed that the rental was not supposed to be occupied, with claims the host had been ordered to vacate the property months ago, and was allegedly renting it out illegally.
Armitage, who boasts more than 135K TikTok followers, described the experience as something out of a dream.
“They were still f****** holding it (the gun). Put that sh*t down,” she said.
After the incident, the women say they were left “shaking and crying,”, and were given 10 minutes to pack their things and evacuate the property, with little explanation from law enforcement.
“They didn’t apologise much. Didn’t say anything,” Dal Sasso said.
In response to messages from followers and friends, the influencers said they are “OK and safe now”, but have been left overwhelmed and shaken up.
“The trauma they are going to freaking give me from this is insane. They didn’t even care,” Dal Sasso continued in the video.
“I’m just scared, honestly. I’m just mind-blown that this happened.”
The pair said they are still “confused” as to why an “aggressive” response was necessary.
“We just don’t understand why that sort of aggression was needed unless we were accused of doing something bigger,” Armitage said.
Dal Sasso is the ex-girlfriend of tennis star Thanasi Kokkinakis, and has 69K followers on Instagram.
Armitage and Dal Sasso have been contacted for comment.
