The Block’s Kylie and Brad Baker have made a stunning comeback on Nine, confirming they have reunited after viewers watched the dramatic breakdown of their marriage on the show.
The pair appeared loved-up on a special episode of A Current Affair on Wednesday night, where they told reporter Seb Costello they had patched things up and “learned some lessons” following the “flirt-gate” scandal which saw Kylie storm off the show altogether.
“We definitely learned some things along the way about just how much we can actually do, no matter what else has happened or is going to happen, we’re still here and we’re going to keep going,” Brad explained, before Kylie quipped: “But did I learn anything?”
She later added: “I just stuck to my guns and we just have to see the ending be the ending.”
The Queensland couple – who are parents of four – also seemingly answered the burning question from fans and fellow contestants: will they be attending the Block finale this weekend, or become the first team in history to ditch it?
“We love everyone and we want everyone to come away from this with something achievable and a good result,” Kylie said, in a huge hint that they were planning to be part of it.
The Block auction day is expected to take place this Saturday, with the season finale to come the following evening on Nine.
It comes after this season was rocked by the bombshell exit of Kylie, who walked off set after overhearing her husband of seven years tell Mimi Belperio over a drink that he would “follow” her OnlyFans if she had one.
At the time, Brad told producers he believed his wife had left him for good, and that he’d “single-handedly destroyed” his family.
Amid the fallout from the incident on the show, and after Kylie’s disappearance was discovered, Brad confessed to his inappropriate remarks to Mimi – who is married to Block teammate Kristian Belperio – admitting he was “embarrassed” by his actions.
“I’m embarrassed, and I feel sorry for other people having to live with my choices,” he told producers on camera.
“She’s the last person I want to hurt – her or my kids or my family. But I managed to do it anyway. There’s no way this is going to go away or get better. It’s done.”
His wife later made a brief return, dumping Brad on-camera but vowing to stay in order to win the prize money.
“Just me talking to you does not mean I’m OK, just so you know. This is us being separated. We’re officially single people,” she told him at the time.
Both later fled the show and returned home to Cairns after Kylie’s dramatic breakdown during judging.
Alone with Brad in the car, Kylie told him she wanted to finish up as quickly as possible, leave, and never return – even if that meant getting nothing out of the season.
“I don’t want to come back for auction, I don’t want to come back and have to deal with them. I don’t.”
Host Scott Cam later delivered the news of their departure to the remaining teams.
“It’s a really disappointing situation that we’ve found ourselves in. The competition now is between four houses only. Kylie and Brad are not returning,” he said.
