The Weeknd disses Bella Hadid in new song lyrics

Fans are buzzing over new lyrics from The Weeknd that seem to diss ex Bella Hadid and confirm new dating rumours.

Super Bowl LV: The Weeknd opens halftime show with ‘Starboy’

Honestly, when is The Weeknd (real name Abel Tesfaye) getting his own reality TV show? Let’s be real – these days he’s making headlines for his behind-the-scenes relationship drama far more often than his actual career, and right now it’s no different.

On January 7, The Weeknd dropped his new album, Dawn FM. Are we talking about the musical prowess and craftsmanship? Nope. The real buzz is around the lyrics in his song, Here We Go … Again.

In the song, he seems to put down the new boyfriend of his famous ex, Bella Hadid, which is obviously a diss to Miss Hadid herself, also. As the lyrics say:

“Your girlfriend’s tryna pair you with somebody more famous

But instead you ended up with someone so basic, faceless

Someone to take your pictures and frame it.”

Hadid’s new boyfriend, Marc Kalman, is an art director, and yes, somebody you’ve probably never heard of before. (I certainly hadn’t.)

The last few months have been fuelled with rumours of The Weeknd dating Angelina Jolie, so is she the ‘actor’ in the song?

The song continues on to seemingly confirm dating rumours surrounding The Weeknd and Angelina Jolie over the last few months.

“And my new girl, she a movie star

My new girl, she a movie star

I loved her right, make her scream like Neve Campbell

But when I make her laugh, swear it cures my depressin’ thoughts

‘Cause baby girl, she a movie star

Baby girl, she a movie star

I told myself that I’d never fall

But here we go again”

I would say ‘ouch’, I suppose, and I love a little relationship petty tea in song lyrics (looking at you Taylor Swift and Justin Beiber). This time, however, I just think The Weeknd’s made himself look ridiculous.

The Weeknd seems to make headlines for dating more than for his music.

How are you going to call your ex superficial for her romantic choices and in the next breath brag about how famous your new lover is?

Can someone please explain to this man that a good relationship has nothing to do with how famous your partner is? Because right now, it looks like Hadid won the break-up by finding a real relationship while The Weeknd is just chasing clout.

Also going to need Jolie to confirm that The Weeknd did, in fact, make her scream – because we all know you can’t trust a cis man hyping up his own abilities.
