Infamous pop star Rebecca Black lands in Aus incognito

One of the world’s most infamous pop stars was pictured arriving in Melbourne as she kept things low-key ahead of some sell out shows.

Rebecca Black reveals X rated way she survived gruelling Katy Perry tour

Rebecca Black has been spotted landing in Melbourne ahead of her sold-out Australian tour.

Black is infamous to practically every millennial for rising to fame when she was just 13 years old and releasing the viral song Friday.

At the time, the track was savaged on social media, and Black became one of the most trolled teenagers in the world.

Things became so bad at the time that she was placed under police protection for a short period of time after receiving multiple death threats.

However, since then, the song has gone on to become somewhat of a cringe classic, and even Black herself has embraced it.

In the years since, Black has gone on to release numerous critically acclaimed projects, and she’s built up a cult following for herself within the LGBTQ community for her Charli XCX-style bangers.

Earlier this year, she also joined Katy Perry on the singer’s Lifetimes Tour, acting as the support act across North America.

Black is set to perform as part of Spilt Milk later this month across Australia, but not before she performs two sell-out solo gigs in Sydney and Melbourne.

Earlier this year, Black opened up about her hugely unexpected rise to fame back in 2011.

“The internet was such a dumpster fire at that time,” Black told Elle Magazine.

“That kind of mass movement [was a bigger deal at the time]. The communities that we have now were just such a different experience. We were all kids. We were all figuring it out.”

“The isolation it gave me, and the time alone at home, literally becoming a chronically online Tumblr alt girl, built the love I have for music that I just don’t know if I would’ve had,” she says. “Most people maybe would’ve never wanted to come back into the industry. For me, it bred this vision I had for myself and for music.”
