A WINEMAKER from the state’s north is searching for a soulmate, the third ever Tasmanian to join the new series of Farmer Wants a Wife.
Applications are now open for single ladies who’d like to meet and fall in love with a farmer, and one of the six from various towns across rural Australia is farmer Nick.
Nick, 44, is from a vineyard in Deviot and according to his profile, says he would bring “a lot of wine” and “the best tacos” to a relationship.
When asked what the most romantic thing he’d ever done was, Nick said he protected his ex-girlfriend from a coyote while they were watching a meteor shower on top of a mountain.
“I held her hand while she received five or so giant rabies shots,” he said.
“It was gnarly.”
Nick does not have children, and is looking for ladies who are willing to get “dangerous in far, foreign places” with him to apply.
The show has created more happily-ever-afters than any other dating show, with nine marriages and 19 babies in Australia (with another on the way) and 147 marriages and 280 babies worldwide.
The other five farmers who are looking for love include:
Farmer Alex, 28 – Cunnamulla, QLD: A sheep and cattle farmer, Alex describes himself as an energetic larrikin who enjoys being outside. He’s visited over 32 countries, speaks some German, and loves his indie rock and grunge.
Farmer Neil, 42 – Crookwell, NSW: Neil farms Merino Sheep, and is a father of three teenagers. He enjoys running, rugby, reading and writing, poker, politics and touch footy.
Farmer Sam, 27 – Innisfail, QLD: A tropical fruit farmer, Sam says he has a heart of gold and a pretty dry sense of humour. He also loves to be outdoors, and is very family orientated. His interests, unsurprisingly, revolve around cars, camping, and tractors – and he loves country music.
Farmer Jack, 27 – Harrow, VIC: A merino wool farmer, Jack describes himself as adventurous, empathetic, loyal, and the type who sees the good in people. He loves the outdoors, travelling, exercise, and debating – and enjoys thinking and talking about the big questions.
Farmer Harry, 28 – Goolgowi, NSW: A farmer of grapes, cotton and sheep, Harry describes himself as a small-town country boy with a big heart and a lot of love to give, enjoying the simple life of working on the farm.
