Beckham is tipped to be on the honours list for King Charles’ Birthday Honours which will be announced on the King’s 76th birthday which is officially celebrated by the Trooping the Colour event each year.

The football legend — who was appointed an officer of the Order of the British Empire in 2003 — has long been popular with the royal family and has been involved in several charity initiatives organised by King Charles and Prince William.

It’s the second royal event Beckham, 50, has attended in recent times after being seen sharing a laugh with the King and Queen Camilla last month at the Chelsea Flower Show in support of the King’s charity.

The new honour would be further recognition of the former England football captain’s sporting career and his contributions to British society.
