THE full Taste of Tasmania New Year’s Eve program has finally been unveiled, with a curious collection of roving artists and installations completing the program puzzle.
Eclectic street performer Shep Huntly, strongman Gordo Gamsby, and mobile nightclub, one man band, and time machine Gramaphone Man will today be announced among the additions to the 1920s-style Speakeasy Ball.
They will join the likes of already-announced musical acts including Tex Perkins, Killing Heidi’s Ella Hooper, Monique Brumby, and Mojo Juju to help Hobartians take a step back through time.

Festival director Brooke Webb said the organisers had “put a bit of blood, sweat, and tears into this festival” and tickets to the Speakeasy Ball are selling well.
“I know that last year everyone bought tickets about three days before New Year’s Eve, or even on the day of,” Ms Webb said.
“We’re in a much better position this year, but we’ve also increased the size of the footprint of the Taste.
“We’ve still got tickets to sell, but they are selling quite quickly.”
She is looking forward to Gamsby’s performance.
“I’ve just seen him balance a disco ball — proper, huge disco ball — through his tongue,” Ms Webb said.
Other artists on the New Year’s Eve bill will include circus, clowning, and comedy trio Beeswax & Bottlecaps, roving 1920s policemen, and acclaimed dancer and 2014’s Miss Burlesque Australia, Zelia Rose.
