OKTOBERFEST has found a new venue after a row over Hobart City Council’s refusal to supply tables and chairs for the event at Princes Wharf 1.
But organisers are not ready to reveal the new location.
The council refused to supply tables and chairs for Oktoberfest because it said it was too close to its Taste of Tasmania event in December.

Lord Mayor Sue Hickey said the tables were sourced from Italy and if any were damaged, replacements could take four months to arrive.
Now less than three weeks out from the big event, organiser Stuart Harris says the new venue is “a really cool spot that has never been used for a major event before”.
“We are going for a more boutique feel in a fantastic venue,’’ Mr Harris said.
The location would be announced next week, he said.
He said PW1 was “a big empty hall”.
“Without the seating to make it work as a beer hall it was not going to work,” he said.
“We haven’t been beaten by Hobart City Council.”
