Dark Mofo 2019 review: All This Coming and Going a creative delight for young and old

Quiet and tucked away on the foreshore, All This Coming and Going is fast becoming an Instagram hit with its play on light and sound.

THE Regatta Grounds shoreline is the perfect place to drink rum and explore an installation about the mysterious wilds of the sea.

Bring your puffer jacket and some thick thermals though – exploring the maze of shipping containers and outdoor projections involves a healthy dose of Antarctic breeze!

The cleverness in this installation is the way it works with its environment. The beautiful contrast of the ships’ sails against the fading sunlight and brewing clouds is perfect.

The central lookout is positioned like a crow’s nest on a ship and it provides a picture perfect view of the Derwent.

It’s a big hit with visitors, who are madly Instagramming couple shots with the bridge shining bright red behind them.

When you are wandering through the shipping containers take the time to savour each one, as they offer a unique perspective – some childlike, others sombre, while a number explore all your senses. All are a play on light and sound and surround you with stories of the sea.

This is the perfect place for lovers or a first date. Quiet and tucked away, it provides the perfect atmosphere for a little one-on-one time away from the crowds and the perfect excuse to snuggle!

You don’t even need to find a babysitter. Bring the kids and canoodle while they explore the dozen shipping containers filled with the ghosts of the sea.
