Dark Mofo 2019: Ogoh-Ogoh ready for burning at Macquarie Point

The countdown is on for the famous Dark Mofo Ogoh-Ogoh burn with a parade leaving Salamanca at 5pm on Sunday heading to Macquarie Point for a 6pm burn.

Dark Mofo The Burning

IT has taken two years to build, contains more than a kilometre of firecrackers with more than 150,000 individual firecracker units, and will soon be destroyed tonight.

Dark Mofo’s 10m Ogoh-Ogoh flame tree will disappear in a forest of smoke, fire and very loud noise.

The swift parrot-inspired Ogoh-Ogoh, filled with fears, will be paraded from Salamanca Lawns to Macquarie Point from 5pm and hoisted into a nest in the tree.

The tree, adorned with a kilometre of firecrackers and more than 150,000 individual firecracker units, will then be burned down.
