The BRIT Awards is renowned for hosting some of the wildest red carpet looks on the awards show calendar, and this year’s event was no exception.

Taking place at The O2 Arena in London on Saturday night, local time, the annual celebration of British music saw the colour black rule the red carpet, with a flurry of racy gowns and some other, more bizarre, fashion choices.

UK singer, songwriter Becky Hill led arrivals at the show, wearing an extreme cut-out gown.

British singer RAYE, 26, was the runaway winner of the night, making BRITs history after picking up six gongs across the seven she was nominated for.

The pop musician took home Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Best New Artist, RnB Act and Songwriter of the Year.

RAYE — whose real name is Rachel Agatha Keen — smashed the record previously held by Harry Styles, who won four at last year’s awards.

Elsewhere, Minogue was honoured with the global icon award, and was overwhelmed with emotion during her acceptance speech.

“I really tried to think hard about what to say tonight but I knew I couldn’t plan anything and I knew it’d be just about the emotion,” Minogue said.

“For some of you it’s been a lifetime – 36 years and counting of experiences together and the thing that really gets me is the love of music and connection with people … I have friends in this room that I’ve worked with through the years.

“There’s a part of me that’s still the 14-year-old girl in her room dreaming of making it in this industry and I met some of the Brits students before and I feel your promise … here I am with this and anything’s possible.

“Thank you to each and every person who’s been part of my journey, you have my heart forever and always.”
