Britain’s most prestigious celebration of film – the BAFTAs – has once again unfolded in London.
The annual ceremony was held this year at the English capital’s Royal Festival Hall, with Dr Who star David Tennant on hosting duties.
Presenters throughout the show included Aussie actress Cate Blanchett, Idris Elba, Bryce Dallas Howard, Hugh Grant, Dua Lipa and David Beckham.
But ahead of the winners being announced, the stars all descended on the red carpet – where there was one very high-profile absence.
Kate, Princess of Wales, was forced to sit out this year’s glittering event as she recovers at home from abdominal surgery.
Prince William, who has been President of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts since 2010, instead hit the red carpet alone, dressed sharply in a velvet navy jacket with dramatic lapels.
Inside, he was spotted chatting away with Aussie actress Cate Blanchett. The pair has known and worked together for years, including at last year’s Earthshot Prize Awards in Singapore.
Speaking of Aussie actresses - Margot Robbie continued her Barbie-core red carpet streak, opting for a daring pink and black strapless gown.
Here are some of the other eye-catching looks from this year’s event:
Oppenheimer has had a stellar awards season so far, and the BAFTAs have proven no different.
It led the pack of nominations with 13 - and landed the win in seven categories, including Best Film, Best Director (for Christopher Nolan) and Best Actor for its star Cillian Murphy.
Robert Downey Jr. also picked up the prize for Best Supporting Actor, continuing his winning streak.
Poor Things also had a triumphant night, collecting five trophies, including yet another for its lead, Emma Stone.
Despite going into the ceremony with three nods - one for Margot Robbie as Best Actress, Ryan Gosling as Best Supporting Actor, and Greta Gerwig and Noah Baumbach for Best Original Screenplay - box office phenomenon Barbie went home empty-handed.
