Elon Musk has left social media baffled after he offered to give Taylor Swift a child.
Swift came out supporting Kamala Harris on Wednesday following her live TV debate with Donald Trump.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Swift referred to herself as a “childless cat lady,” and shared her endorsement of Harris and her running mate, Tim Walz, who found out about the post live on-air.
Following Swift’s endorsement, X owner Elon Musk took to the social media platform to send a public message to the pop star.
Musk, who has pledged support for Mr Trump in the upcoming US presidential election, responded to Swift’s endorsement with an offer to “give you a child”.
“Fine Taylor,” Musk posted. “You win … I will give you a child and guard your cats with my life.”
Musk, who has fathered 12 known children, is currently engaged in a custody battle with former girlfriend Grimes over three of them, and had three others with one of his employees at brain-chip implant company Neuralink.
Neither Swift nor her boyfriend, NFL star and three-time Super Bowl winner Travis Kelce, have responded Musk’s bizarre offer.
However, the tweet sparked thousands of confused replies, with many labelling the offer “creepy”.
One commented: “This is beyond gross”.
“Very creepy and weird,” remarked another.
“Elon responding to tonight by telling Taylor Swift he’ll impregnate her is peak weirdo and creeper behaviour,” alleged another.
Following Tuesday’s debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump, Swift took to Instagram with a lengthy post endorsing Ms Harris for president of the United States come November.
“Like many of you, I watched the debate tonight,” Swift began her post, which ticked over one million likes in just 13 minutes.
“If you haven’t already, now is a great time to do your research on the issues at hand and the stances these candidates take on the topics that matter to you the most. As a voter, I make sure to watch and read everything I can about their proposed policies and plans for this country.”
Swift, who shared the statement alongside a photo of herself with her cat from her December TIME cover, continued, “I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election. I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them. I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos.
“I was so heartened and impressed by her selection of running mate @timwalz, who has been standing up for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman’s right to her own body for decades.”
Reacting further to the debate, in which many have called Ms Harris the winner, Musk said she had “exceeded most people’s expectations” before attacking her track record as Vice President under Joe Biden.
“While I don’t think the debate hosts were fair to (Mr Trump), (Ms Harris) exceeded most people’s expectations tonight,” he wrote.
“That said, when it comes to getting things done, not just saying nice-sounding words, I strongly believe that Trump will do a far better job.”
“After all, if Kamala can do great things, why hasn’t she? Biden rarely shows up for work, so she’s basically in charge already.
“The question comes down to this: do you want current trends to continue for 4 more years or do you want change?”
