This is not Tilda Swinton: E! panel’s embarrassing mix-up

GUILIANA Rancic and the E! team spent minutes gushing over Tilda Swinton’s outfit — but they got the wrong girl.

WELL, there are certainly worse people for whom you could be mistaken.

During their Oscars red carpet coverage today, the presenters at E! News waxed lyrical for several minutes over Tilda Swinton’s bold red carpet look.

They were firmly in support of Swinton’s eccentric outfit, but there was one problem: they weren’t looking at Swinton at all, but costume designer Sandy Powell.

The panel, including Kardashian matriarch Kris Jenner and E! host Giuliana Rancic, gushed over I Can’t Believe It’s Not Swinton’s fashion choices.

“I’m a little jealous because it looks so comfortable,” said Jenner.

“The thing about Tilda Swinton that I love so much is that she takes fashion risks, it’s always ‘fashion’,” said Rancic.

As mix-ups go, this one paled in comparison to that made by beauty blog True Beauty, who made the biggest social media stuff-up of today’s Oscars when they tweeted out a picture of two-time Oscar winner Whoopi Goldberg on the red carpet, mistakenly identifying her as Oprah Winfrey.
