Donald Trump killed Marla Maples’ tell-all book, reports say, refusing to sign off on it

DONALD Trump’s ex-wife Marla Maples was set to write a tell-all book about their relationship but he sunk the project right before the election, reports say.

US PRESIDENT Trump’s one-time mistress and ex-wife Marla Maples was set to publish a memoir about their relationship — but the project got shelved just before the election.

The book, It’s About Time, due to be published by Judith Regan, was sunk by various problems, mainly Mr Trump himself, the New York Post reports.

A publishing industry source tells us that Mr Trump put an abrupt end to the memoir when he declined to give his approval to the tome.

Another bookworm says that an agreement that Ms Maples — who famously said Mr Trump was “the best sex I’ve ever had” — made as part of their divorce settlement meant that she couldn’t deliver a manuscript that was as juicy as the one she promised.

We’re told Ms Regan — who infamously attempted to print O.J. Simpson’s If I Did It memoir — bought the book for her Regan Arts imprint while Mr Trump was campaigning.

After Ms Maples and a ghost writer cranked out some chapters, lawyers became concerned the notoriously litigious president-to-be would sue — and wouldn’t sign off on it unless Ms Maples secured approval from her former husband.

Predictably, Mr Trump declined to sign on the dotted line.

Meanwhile, we’re told that her publishers became increasingly frustrated when Ms Maples’ draft — which was supposed to cover her 1989 affair with the real-estate magnate, their six-year marriage and birth of their daughter, Tiffany — became sanitised because of the nondisclosure agreement she has with her ex, signed when they divorced in 1999 (Alas, no details about their sex life).

Now insiders say the project is permanently on ice.

This is the second time Ms Maples has tried, and failed, to tell her story.

HarperCollins commissioned All That Glitters Is Not Gold in 2001, while Ms Regan was head of the company. That never made it to stores either.

Reps for Ms Maples and Mr Trump didn’t get back to us and Regan Arts declined to comment.
