From gnocchi “to die for” to traditional family recipes, Tassie has some amazingly authentic Italian restaurants to choose from.
When the Mercury put out the call to find Tassie’s Best Italian Restaurant, hundreds of nominations rolled in from across the state.
Verona Italian Restaurant and Wine Bar in Devonport was nominated many times, with comments like “awesome food and staff”, “excellent” and “a real gem”.
Don Camillo in Sandy Bay was also nominated multiple times, including by Jess Wilson who said: “the gnocchi is to die for!”
Chelsea Ballard said she travels “almost an hour” to get dinner at Solo Pasta and Pizza in Sandy Bay as it’s her “favourite Italian place”.
Ottimo in Liverpool St was nominated by Louise Christie who said: “best vegan dishes and pizzas with a great range! So great to have a restaurant serving ethical food.”
