Qld lawyer Travis Schultz tops three categories in Doyle’s Guide

A Sunshine Coast compensation lawyer has topped three Doyle’s Guide compensation categories in the annual list which ranks solicitors in several practice areas across the country.

The managing partner of a leading Queensland compensation practice Travis Schultz has completed the rare feat of being the only lawyer in Australia to be ranked as Preeminent across all compensation categories in the latest Doyle’s Guide national rankings.

There were 26 Queenslanders recognised out of 131 across Australia for the five compensation categories in the annual guide.

Mr Schultz, the managing partner of Travis Schultz & Partners, won the top ranking in three core compensation categories, Work Injury, Motor Vehicle and Public Liability.

Mr Schultz – who has practices on the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane – said he was honoured to be recognised in the national awards, particularly as the rankings are determined by peers in the legal industry.

“It’s an absolute privilege to be recognised in the Doyle’s Guide,” he said.

Across the Work Injury, Motor Vehicle and Public Liability categories Kate Avery of Kare Lawyers was recognised with two Recommended and one Leading award in the categories, and Renee Eglinton also of Kare Lawyers received two Recommended and one Leading recognitions.

Based in Spring Hill Ms Avery and Ms Eglinton are the principal lawyers and directors of Kare Lawyers in February 2016. Ms Avery has been in practice for more than 25 years and Ms Eglinton began her legal career 1992 and having been admitted as a solicitor in 1994.

In the more specialist Medical Negligence Compensation Lawyers category Wendy Nixson of Oak Medical Law was named Preeminent. Ms Nixson started Oak Medical Law in Toowong last year with Sarah Vallance after being with Shine lawyers for over six years.

Gold Coast-based Sean Ryan from VBR Lawyers was also named Preeminent in the Asbestos & Dust Diseases Compensation Lawyers field.

Travis Schultz & Partners Sunshine Coast Leader Hugh Powell made his debut in the national rankings, as Recommended in the Leading Work Injury Compensation Lawyers (Plaintiff) category.
