Police claim three teens committed the armed robbery of BWS Wilsonton Heights on Monday afternoon.

One of three teenagers police believe responsible for the armed robbery of a Wilsonton Heights bottle shop on Monday has appeared in a Toowoomba court.

The 15-year-old boy, who as a juvenile cannot be named, is accused of entering the BWS store on Hogg St on Sunday with another boy.

Police claim they were captured by CCTV cameras stealing cans of mixed alcohol drinks and leaving the store.

Both allegedly had a knife in his belt at the time.

The next day at about 3.45pm, police claim the same two boys with a third boy returned to the store wielding knives at the counter attendant while demanding cigarettes, cash and bottles of Bundaberg Rum.

The attendant handed over the items and no-one was physically injured.

The store’s CCTV cameras again captured the incident and a witness outside the store filmed the trio on a mobile phone as they fled the scene.

Objecting to the 15-year-old’s application for bail, police prosecutor Nikola Prince told the court though the defendant had a shirt covering his face, he had distinct markings on his back.

Ms Prince said the teenager was already on a 12-month probation order imposed by the Children’s Court of Queensland in May for a previous robbery and a six-month probation order imposed by the Toowoomba Children’s Court in July for burglary.

The lad’s solicitor Michael Corbin told the court his client indicated that he would eventually plead guilty to all charges including the robbery.

However, his client had instructed him to make an application for bail, he said.

His client, who turns 16 next month, would reside with his grandmother in Rockville and abide by a 24-hour curfew if required, Mr Corbin submitted.

However, Magistrate Andy Cridland refused bail and remanded the teen in custody to appear for mention back in Toowoomba Children’s Court on January 7.

Police were still looking for the other two co-accused, both believed to be juvenile teenagers.
