Emergency services had an early start when two vehicles collided on a major Darling Downs highway.

It’s understood a car and a water truck collided on the Gore Highway near Brose Lane, Pampas just after 5.30am on Thursday.

A Queensland Fire Department spokesman said one fire and rescue crew attended and had assisted in the clean up of a fluid leak from one of the vehicles.

The QFD spokesman said the truck was blocking part of the highway.

Paramedics assessed a female driver in her late teens for facial and leg injuries, while the truck driver was uninjured, a Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said.

The QAS spokeswoman said the young woman was taken to Milmerran Hospital for observation.

Queensland Police remain at the scene and are assisting with traffic control.

A QPS spokeswoman said the highway was expected to be reopen shortly.
