Sustainable, steady and dependable are the words two of our top real estate agents have used to describe the future of Toowoomba’s property market.

“The housing market in Toowoomba is extremely positive and we constantly see that prices are increasing steadily and you will notice that throughout the next coming years as well,” RE/MAX success’ principal Jacqui Walker said.

“We don’t hit the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. We are just seeing steady growth and that’s great for homeowners because they’re always seeing that growth in their property.”

The seasoned Toowoomba real estate agent’s comments have come after she added two new awards to her repertoire after the REIQ annual gala event.

Ms Walker was awarded for selling the highest number of properties in regional Queensland.

The current median house price in Toowoomba is currently $597,550 and rental prices have increased by 4.3 per cent in the past 12 months.

Ms Walker said Toowoomba was a great place to live particularly for families, making it ideal for homeowners.

“It is a profitable city and it’s a great place for investors because of the capital growth and the high rental demands for properties,” she said.

“Toowoomba’s got everything you could want, from amazing schools to excellent shopping to fantastic cafes.”

Property manager Sarah Moxon, who was awarded the Rising Star Property Manager of the Year award, also saw a positive future ahead for real estate in Toowoomba.

The McAdam and Turnbull Realty, moved to Toowoomba from Victoria in 2020, and was drawn to the city’s liveability and market stability.

“I looked at the market in Toowoomba and I decided I’ll move here for a year and then buy if I’m still happy and that’s what happened.”

Ms Moxon said one of the attractions for housing in Toowoomba was that it was one of the biggest inland cities in Queensland that was not the capital.

“It means you have the benefits of being so close to Brisbane and a lot of people will be looking to move out here,” Ms Moxon said.

“I think Toowoomba is a perfect mix of country and city. People are really nice and laid-back but you also have a lot of the convenience that you get from a city.”

Ms Walker said the most important aspect to her success in the industry was understanding and genuinely caring about both buyers and sellers.

“People are selling for all sorts of reasons and it can be a very difficult and stressful time but we understand that and walk the journey with them to make sure that we bring them the best possible results,” she said.
