A TOOWOOMBA man arrested during a Christmas Day family altercation had sworn at police and told officers they “should be shot like Brett Forte”.
Police called to the disturbance about 5.30pm Christmas Day found Brodie Joshua Pobar being held back by his mother and stepfather during an argument with a cousin.
Asked for his name, the 32-year-old told police “Greg Gof***yourself”, Toowoomba Magistrates Court heard.
Warned about failing to give his correct name, Pobar had told police “go f*** yourself”, police prosecutor Shelby Larcombe told the court.
When police went to handcuff him, Pobar had struggled and had to be wrestled to the ground and a second police unit arrived to help.
Put into the police van, it was while en route to the police station that the 32-year-old had continued to swear at and threaten police before telling officers “you should all be shot like Brett Forte”, Ms Larcombe said.

At the watch house, Pobar had claimed had been living with people with COVID-19, forcing police to spend hours at Toowoomba Hospital where he was tested for the virus and had the results returned.
Pobar pleaded guilty to contravening a police direction and two counts of obstructing police.
Duty solicitor Nathan Bouchier said his client accepted his conduct was appalling and that he was remorseful.
Acting Magistrate Lisa O’Neill described Pobar’s behaviour as “disgraceful, rude and inappropriate”.
She fined him $900 but ordered the convictions not be recorded.
