Police have charged a woman with 14 drug and weapons offences after she crashed into a tree, allegedly in possession of illegal drugs and a shortened firearm.
The woman was travelling east on Alderley Street in Rangeville when she left the road and hit a tree about 12.30pm on Wednesday.
Police were looking for the Hyundai hatchback as it was linked to a man who is a person of interest in an ongoing drug investigation.
The man was not at the scene when police arrived.
After the crash police combed through several suitcases or luggage and allegedly found a quantity of prescription drugs, a shortened .22 rifle and other drug related items.
The female driver was suspected of being under the influence of drugs, and was taken to Toowoomba Hospital for further testing.
She was held in custody overnight and will face the Toowoomba Magistrates Court on Thursday charged with possessing a shortened firearm in public, seven counts of unlawful possession of schedule 4 drugs and possessing the proceeds of crime.
