Two men hospitalised as police investigate Gore Highway wounding

A number of people have come to blows on a remote stretch of highway in regional Queensland, leaving two people in hospital.

Police are investigating an incident on the Gore Highway that put a man in hospital.

According to the initial police report a Toyota LandCruiser and a Mitsubishi Triton collided on the Gore Highway at Yarranlea about 11pm.

The two drivers, both men, then became embroiled in an altercation before the Mitsubishi driver wounded the Toyota driver.

The Toyota driver, aged in his 20s, suffered a non-life threatening lower arm cut.

He fled the scene before police arrived but was arrested a short time later.

Both men were transported to the Toowoomba Hospital for observation.

“Numerous other people were involved,” Senior Sergeant Paul McCusker said.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman was treated for leg, head and arm injuries.

Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact Policelink on 131 444.
